There’s just something about these Austin, Texas natives. With a Ben Folds meets Bell and Sebastian type of sound, passionate self-referential, and an always upbeat nature, Voxtrot delivered one of the best debuts in recent memory. Their sound is euphoric and youthful and pours out of the speakers with the same intensity and elegance as if seeing them live. Plus, frontman Ramesh Srivastava’s has some of the most pleasant vocals around and energy in a class of it’s own. Album highlights include “Ghost”, “Firecracker”, and “Brother in Conflict”. If this is just the beginning, one can only imagine what lies in the future.
