With the Super Bowl three, count ’em three, days away, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band are gearing up for their halftime performances with press conferences and dress rehearsals, all of which should make any music fan pretty excited.

Well, everyone aside from the betting folks. As we learned in a recent article by Rolling Stone and which appeared to be further validated by a dress rehearsal, when the band takes the stage during halftime of Super Bowl XLIV, Bruce and Co. will not perform one of the seven playlists offered by Vegas, but instead brucelive1 Bruce readies for Super Bowl, apologizes for Walmartsomething rumored to look a bit something like this:

“Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out”
“Born to Run”
“Working on a Dream”
“Glory Days”

Needless to say, they’ll be offering something for everyone.

That recently released Walmart-only Greatest Hits album also offered something for everyone. Only as Springsteen noted in an interview with The New York Times, he’s having second thoughts on the whole release:

“We were in the middle of doing a lot of things, it kind of came down and, really, we didn’t vet it the way we usually do,” he said. “We just dropped the ball on it.” Instead of offering the exclusive collection to Wal-Mart, “given its labor history, it was something that if we’d thought about it a little longer, we’d have done something different.” He added, “It was a mistake. Our batting average is usually very good, but we missed that one. Fans will call you on that stuff, as it should be.”

In other words, with the Greatest Hits controversy behind us, fans don’t have much to complain about these days. Between the recently released, unbelievably awesome Working on a Dream, Sunday’s performance, and the upcoming worldwide tour, which Springsteen revealed during today’s press conference, will include a TBA second U.S. leg, things couldn’t get much better these days…
