Hollywood’s rich and famous are always searching for new ways to re-invent themselves in the public eye, but finally someone willing to do the deed, while still remaining “classy” and “cool”, has come along. That’s right, Hollywood’s “IT” boy Ryan Gosling (of The Notebook and Lars and the the Real Girl) is trying out music for awhile and oddly enough the kid’s not half bad at it!

Now, imagine if Tom Waits and The Magnetic Fields made a baby with Peter Bretter from Forgetting Sarah Marshall and there you have it: Dead Man’s Bones. It’s quirky, it’s eerie and altogether it’s a whole lot of hopelessly awkward fun. Gosling gracefully plays the piano alongside Zach Sheilds (drums) with the accompaniment of a children’s choir all decked out in their favorite Halloween costumes, from werewolves to mummies! What more could anyone ask for?

The video for “In The Room Where You Sleep” says it all. Between Gosling’s deep-throated vocals and the choir’s hopelessly adorable touches, it’s no joke that SXSW just got so much better!
