For the better part of a week now, the Aaron and Bryce Dessner curated benefit album, Dark Was The Night, has been tantalizing the ears of music fans with its exclusive tracklisting. As we’ve seen and heard, ahead of its February 17th release date, the 31-track effort, designed to raise proceeds for The Red Hot Organization and AIDS awareness, has been teasing us each day by streaming one track from said album via MySpace. However, by the time most of us actually grasped what’s being presented, such as a super sweet collaboration between Feist and Death Cab’s Ben Gibbard, and the sounds which it evoked, in this case, the utterly pleasant Vashti Bunyan cover of “Train Song”, it’s gone, replaced by an equally stellar, but all new type of animal.
Fortunately, whether as an attempt to alleviate the stress of trying to keep track of a new stream each day, or the result of an overwhelmed Web Sheriff, the fine folks at the Red Hot Organization have made all of Dark Was The Night‘s previously released tracks available together and all at one time via a nice little widget.
Now you’ll have no problem checking out Dirty Projectors and David Byrne’s “Knotty Pine” or yesterday’s treat, a brand new selection from the curators main outfit, entitled “So Far Around the Bend”. Check our widget below, or go make one for yourself at darkwasthenight.com.
