By now, we’ve said enough about this year’s South by Southwest. It’s good. Really good. So good that we still haven’t even fully taken in the latest round of additions, let alone finished counting the total number of acts currently appear on on the 2009 bill. And the best part? There are still a slew more to come.
What we do know is today’s additions are as stellar in quality as they great in length. The Ravonettes, The Delta Spirit, Grizzly Bear, The Toxic Avenger, Say Hi, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Eli Paperboy Reed & The True Loves, Dredg, Mr. Lif, and Back Door Slam are among the biggest new names set to appear in and around Austin, Texas between March 18 and 22. Other notables include Thunderheist, 13ghosts, The Postelles, Black Joe Lewis & The Honey Bears, Wild Sweet Orange, and The Spinto Band.
All and in all, the numbers of acts currently confirmed for SXSW 2009 is well beyond 1,000, and needless to say, keeping track of everything is beyond even our realm of ability. Thus, we’ve aborted our attempt to keep count – after all, all the necessary names and links can be already be found here – and instead, shifted the focus of our SXSW Outlook page to those acts worth seeing. Think of it as our personal recomendations.
Speaking of recommendations, a few of them might be playing a role in CoS’ plans for SXSW. Stay tuned, as information will be announced in the very near future!
