When Morrissey unveiled his new track “I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris” last summer, we expected it to be followed up by a stunning video or well, at least something engaging. Instead, as we learned today, the video is extremely low key and mostly features Morrissey and Co. performing in front of a white background. Kind of boring, don’t you think?
Well, not entirely. Surprisingly, although the set up is on the bland side of things, it seems in check with the song’s mood. Plus, the video isn’t without any action; Morrissey catches a tambourine and his drummer leaps over the kit, all which serve as pleasantly subtle additions to this super simplistic concept. Oh yeah, and did we mention the two adorable little pugs running about the set? Or the fact that one of ’em is donned in some funny headgear? All in all, it could be worse.
If you already forgot, the new Morrissey record, Years of Refusal, is due just around the corner on February 17 via Attack/Lost Highway. And if you are one of the many HUGE Morrissey fans make sure to catch him on his US tour this year! Tickets are still available via Ticketmaster.com.
