Of Montreal has always been known for its outlandish and abstract visualizations, from album covers to stage setups, so its really not surprising that the group recently revealed yet another trippy new piece of art. This time around, it’s a video for the equally trippy Skeletal Lamping track An Eluardian Instance.
Directed by Jesse Ewles the video below is essentially a zany, psychedelic stop motion feature thats too crazy for words! But since this is website and words are required, I’ll give it a try. Picture having a nice picnic at the beach with a pretty girl and a basket full of acid, now add a touch of artistic flair and a bit of that blissful summertime feeling and there you have An Eluardian Instance in a nutshell. Its wacky, its zazzy and its totally out of this world with kick-ass origami, spastic clams and a ram thats totally mental. And it gets particularly awesome towards the end when the girls kite is destroyed by a plane flying a bit too low, resulting in tiny bits of paper that float down gracefully like whimsical leaves on the first day of Fall. Its simply stunning.
So, if you are looking for a totally strange and radical audio-visual experience then this video is right up your alley. Thank you kindly, Mr. Ewles.
