In an interview with Kerrang! back in January, Gallows frontman Frank Carter put it simply: “Britain is fucked!” Sure, it may sound like just another cranky English outfit rebelling against the man, but Carter and Co. are apparently fed up enough to to incorporate the belief into their long-awaited sophomore studio album. “It’s all about what’s going on socially, politically and economically in the UK and how it affects us,” Carter goes on to explain.
Yet the topic at hand didn’t stop Gallows from mixing it up a bit on the aptly titled Grey Britain, which is due out officially due out on May 4th; string sections, pianos, and acoustic movements are said to be interlaced amidst the 100% punk fury that we were first introduced to in 2006’s Orchestra of Wolves. Talk about not being influenced by the major labels…
In support of the release, the Gallows will hit the road beginning in May for a 15-date U.K. tour before heading to the U.S in June to take part in the 2009 edition of the Vans Warped Tour.
