Punk rock at Red Rocks? May sound like an odd combination, especially when the words Warped Tour aren’t attached, but come June 11th, that’s exactly what will happen when Rancid and Rise Against perform at the legendary amphitheatre. In fact, that’s what will be going down pretty much everywhere for the better part of the summer.
As previously reported, the two high-profile punk outfits will team for up for a North American tour beginning in early June. The trek, which will reportedly feature Rise Against headlining with Rancid, Riverboat Gamblers, and Billy Talent performing in support – someone tell me how that works? – currently runs until the end of July, but with a few crucial dates missing, more are likely still forthcoming. Of course, if you believe the rumors, one date in particular (Chicago) will likely be in the form of festival appearance (Lollapalooza).
Ahead of the tour, or sometime during it, or after, or nevermind, Rancid is expected to release its long-awaited, yet-to-be-titled seventh studio album.
