Bob Dylan certainly has quite a collection of songs from which he can build a setlist. The man has such a large catalogue that it’s hard to see how he can even sift through all of it. Especially surprising is when the folk god brings to life a tune he hasn’t ever performed live, and one that was released over 30 years ago. Last Sunday night at a club in Stockholm, Bob Dylan performed the near-lost gem, “Billy,” from the Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid soundtrack. A decent audio recording of the performance has surfaced on youtube (via Rolling Stone):
It just goes to show that Dylan is still capable of throwing curveballs late in his career, and continues to surprise fans. Hopefully his forthcoming release will do just the same.
