Michael Jackson‘s a legend. Scrape away the media hoopla that’s stained his career and you’re left with Off The Wall, Thriller, and Bad. Not too shabby of a discography — and that’s not even including the ’90s classic, Dangerous. Well popsters, it’s time to start moonwalkin’ again, because it looks like ol’ Whacko Jacko is back. It’s not much yet, but yesterday the King of Pop’s MySpace posted a bulletin that simply stated, “Michael Jackson To Make Special Announcement THIS THURSDAY.”
The announcement will take place in London’s 02 Arena, where he’s having an open press conference to the media and public alike. It’s being sponsored by AEG Live and admission is on a first come first served basis. Will you be in the area? Then grab that pencil, because here are all the details you need to jot down.
WHAT: Michael Jackson to Make A Special Announcement
WHEN: Thursday, March 5th
TIME: Suggested Arrival Time is 1pm.
Press Conference Starts at 4pm.
WHERE: The O2
London SE10 0DX
What does all this mean? NME reports that Jackson will be unveiling plans for an upcoming London residency later this year, and if fan demand is strong enough some “other dates” may be announced, too. Hopefully, in addition to some touring news, the reclusive icon will shed some light on the long awaited follow up to 2001’s Invicible — or even any new material at all. There’s no doubt his hits are timeless, but it’d be nice if Jackson could release more than one album this decade, you know? Oh, and for those still holding out for that very unnecessary reunion of the Jackson-5, you might want to check your meds. It ain’t happening!
Anyways, check back tomorrow as we’ll keep you updated.
