Jeff Buckley gets another tribute album

    Jeff Buckley could very well be the alternative music’s version of Tupac. Seriously, since his untimely on March 29, 1997, the acclaimed singer/songwriter has somehow managed to shelve out nine new releases. The latest? Grace Around the World, a DVD/CD package designed to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Buckley’s debut album, Grace.

    Due for release on June 2nd via Sony’s Legacy Recordings archival arm, the package will be built around a host of previously unreleased live performances drawn from a variety of television appearances, made by Buckley shortly after the release of his Grace on August 23, 1994. Also included on the release will original music video for Buckley’s cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”. And of course, like everything else these days, Grace Around the World will also be available as a deluxe version, which will feature a second DVD consisting of the Laurie Trombley and Nyla Bialek Adams fan directed documentary, Amazing Grace: Jeff Buckley.

    Now if only there was some new Jeff Buckley biography available to keep our attention until then. Oh, what’s that? Jeff Apter recently published a book entitled A Pure Drop: The Life of Jeff Buckley? Hallelujah!
