Mötley Crüe, Godsmack, Drowning Pool, Theory of a Deadman, and Charm City Devils all on one stage in one night? Sure sounds like a “White Trash Circus” to me!
But before you get start throwing bombastic insults our way, it should probably be noted that “White Trash Circus” is in fact what the Crüe is calling its second annual Crüe Fest. Beginning in mid-July the legendary rockers will team up with Godsmack, Drowning Pool, Theory of a Deadman, and Charm City Devils for “Crüe Fest 2: The White Trash Circus,” a two-month Live Nation produced summer extravaganza.
Speaking of the bill during a press conference earlier this morning, Mötley Crüe’s Nixxi Sixx had the following to say:
“This is what we imagined when we came up with the idea of Crüe Fest last summer putting together the most kick-ass bands on one bill for a day of rock. All of the bands on this tour compliment the others musically, theatrically and passionately.”
Of course, last summer, Mötley Crüe with Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Sixx:A.M. and Trapt for the debut Crüe Fest, a festival which drew nearly a half a million fans on a 40-date swing.
This year’s edition will coincide with the 20th anniversary of Mötley Crüe’s first #1 album, Dr. Feelgood. which the band will reportedly celebrate by playing the 1989 classic in its entirety each night of the festival. Ahead of the July 19th launch date, the Crüe, along with the lead vocalists from this year’s Crüe Fest will take to Jimmy Kimmel Live! where they will perform the band’s newest single, “White Trash Circus”.
Tickets will go on sale beginning Friday, March 20th via Live Nation.
