We at CoS make no bones about being huge Regina Spektor fans – after all, we didn’t just name the site after one of the New York singer’s songs because it sounded good! So, it probably goes without saying that today’s new about Regina’s upcoming album served as a great way to start the work week! And that’s even without mentioning Far isn’t all too far off.
According to Pitchfork, Spektor’s followup to 2006’s Begin to Hope is tentatively scheduled for release in June via Sire and will feature a mix of dark narratives and her trademark goofiness, the result of a what is described as a quartet of “hit-making producers.” Begin to Hope‘s David Kahne, Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Maroon 5), Garret “Jacknife” Lee (U2, R.E.M.), and ELO frontman Jeff Lynn are all said to have had a hand on Spektor’s fifth studio album.
At this point, we’d love to tell you about Far‘s tracklist, or provide you with a clip of the first single, but Regina is still finalizing all that. So instead, how about a video of our favorite song?
