Spinnerette finally ready to release Spinnerette

Perhaps its only ironic Spinerette is about as good as releasing an album on time as Rancid – if you don’t get the reference, take a look at the past relationship of the two respective bands’ frontpersons. Nearly two years after forming and six months after the release of their debut EP, Brody Dalle and company will release their debut LP, or so we think. The self-titled effort is due out June 2nd, and to quote Rolling Stone, feature 12 tracks hinting at “the influence of Blondie and Cibo Matto.”

Drummer Jack Irons (Pearl Jam, Chili Peppers) and guitarist Tony Bevilacqua (Distillers) are said to have a hand on the album, as does Dalle’s husband, Queens of the Stone Age’s Joshua Homme – Spinerette at Homme’s personal studio, Pink Duck.

See you in June! Maybe… (anyone want to take bets on which album will come out first: Rancid’s yet-to-be-titled seventh LP or Spinnerette?)
