Beware, the only redeeming quality of The Killers recently unveiled take on Bright Eyes‘ Cassadaga number “Four Winds” is the fact that it gets Bright Eyes back into headlines – something rare these days considering Mr. Oberst’s other ventures.
Aside from this, the rendition, which will reportedly appear on the upcoming Spaceman EP due out April 14th, is nothing less than a train wreck. In fact, I think I’d listen to Miley Cyrus on a loop then actually suffer from Brandon Flowers and Co. turning the brilliant alt-country feel of “Four Winds” into a giant, synthesized, electrified clusterfuck. Pardon my language, but that’s the only way I can truly describe the three minutes and 51 seconds of “music”.
