It’s probably safe to say the Arctic Monkeys are back! After taking some time off following the release of their breakthrough debut album in 2006 and followup in 2007, the English rockers are gearing up for the release of a brand new studio album and what appears to be a subsequent North American tour, well, at least if this week’s festival announcements indicate anything. But first, the Monkeys will look reintroduce their brand of frenetic British rock to U.S. audiences everywhere with a brand new live DVD/CD centered around band’s gig at the Manchester Apollo in December of 2007 – the last date of their world tour
Due out on May 5th, the aptly titled At the Apollo will mark first-ever live Arctic Monkeys performance captured on film. Directed by ‘The Mighty Boosh’ actor Richard Ayoade, who has also directed music videos for Vampire Weekend, the 76-minute DVD highlights both albums, although Mardy Bum is missing, as is Perhaps Vampires is Too Strong But
Fortunately, the latter, along with nine other tracks will be included on a bonus live CD that will be part of the release. Setlists for both the DVD and CD can be found below…
But before that, how about a preview?
