The members of Japanese metal outfit FACT were involved in a serious van accident yesterday afternoon (April 14th). According to a press release, the band had played a show in Montgomery, Alabama the night before and was heading to their next gig in Altoona, Pennsylvania, when another vehicle crossed the median on Interstate 85 just outside of Atlanta, striking the band’s van and causing the two vehicles to collide head on. The van flipped over on its side.

Fortunately, everyone survived, although frontman Hiro sustained a concussion and drummer Eiji remains hospitalized with a broken arm. As a result, the band has been forced to cancel the reamining of its North American tour.

As you may know, FACT was a particpant in the Consequence of Sound sponsored Full Metal Texas unofficial day party at last month’s South by Southwest. We’d like to wish the band a speedy recover and let the members know our thoughts are with them.
