And the reissuing train keeps on rolling…
Joining The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Beck, Pearl Jam, R.E.M., and the countless other names planning or who have already reissued past material in recent months will be the one and only Frank Sinatra. Yes, the Chairman of the Board will soon again be returning to the music section – more than 10 years after his death.
On May 5th, Frank Sinatra Enterprises and Concord Music Group will release a 40th anniversary edition of Sinatra’s classic album, My Way. Produced by Don Costa and Sonny Burke, My Way was released in March 1969 and features a varied collection of contemporary pop songs, including Simon and Garfunkel’s “Mrs. Robinson”, The Beatles’ “Yesterday”, Ray Charles’ “Hallelujah I Love Her So”, and the iconic title track, “My Way”, which according to the press release I am directly copying from, would become his career theme song. This particular edition will also feature two previously unreleased tracks, a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “For Once In My Life” and a live version of “My Way”.
But wait, there’s more. Accompanying the reissue of My Way will be a brand new live album consisting of recording from Sinatra’s performance at the Meadowlands on March 14, 1986. Aptly entitled Live At The Meadowlands, the release will feature 18 previously unreleased tracks, including “One For My Baby”, “I’ve Got You Under My Skin”, and “L.A. Is My Lady”.
