Want to know just how cool Kori Gardner and Jason Hammel? How many parents do you know are currently gearing up for the release of their very own 12″ EP full of remixes?
That’s right. As if the lovely duo better known as Mates of State hadn’t already done enough to solidify their status on coolest musical parents on Earth, Gardner and Hammel will return on April 14th with Re-Arranged: Remixes Volume 1, a 4-track 12″ featuring four reinterpretations of tracks from 2008’s Re-arrange Us. Included on the effort will be remixes from DJ Sega, Flosstradamus, The Mae Shi, and RAC, all of which will be packaged in a DJ white sleeve. Only 1,000 copies will be printed worldwide – pre-order now via Barsuk Records – and will be available exclusively on vinyl several weeks before hitting digital retailers.
And as if that wasn’t enough, in celebration of Mates of State recently launched co-headlining tour with the Black Kids, DJA of Mad Decent has created a Black Kids vs. Mates of State mash-up. The number can be had now as a free digital download via RCRD LBL.
