Pink Mountaintops offer some Outside Love

“The ten songs on Outside Love are about or influenced by weddings in Montreal, winter, Pink Floyd’s The Final Cut, Christmas albums, that one Exile song and that one Echo and the Bunnymen song, the Bermuda Triangle, being depressed in the sunshine, people who haven’t made out yet but will in the future, The Everly Brothers, clowns in the ceilings, and bedrooms where skinheads used to live.”

If that isn’t enough to get you excited about Stephen McBean latest LP with Pink Mountaintop, you’re either entirely severely lacking sensible logic or just an old curmudgeon. For those who are excited, here are the details on Outside of Love:

Consisting of 10 tracks mixed by John Congleton (Modest Mouse, Black Mountain), the effort will mark the followup to 2006’s Axis of Evol when released on May 5th via Jagjaguwar.

In support o the release, Pink Mountaintops will embark on a short North American tour beginning in early June. This time around, McBean will be joined on tour by Black Mountain bandmate Matthew Camirand as well as Sophie Trudeau, Sar Friedman, Chad Ross, and Mike Maxymuik.
