First it was courtship with Matador. Then came the details and the sneak peaks. Now, with the release of The Eternal just six weeks away (June 9th), Sonic Youth is ready to unveil the tour dates. Ah, the beauty of an album release!
In support of its 16th full-length effort, the legendary quintet will embark on what is currently a month-long North American tour beginning on June 28th in Chicago. The trek takes the band across the country, highlighted by an appearance at the recently announced Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle, Washington. Plus, with a slot at this year’s Austin City Limits also confirmed – expect the official announcement to drop sometime tonight – the dates should pick right back up following a quick trip to Japan in August.
If only summer could be as eternal…
