Those who caught the first leg of the Kings of Leon’s fall tour may be familiar with the Swedish quintet, The Sounds. After opening for some of the biggest names in rock n’ roll right now, the Swedes are ready to release their new album, Crossing The Rubicon, come June 2nd. The album will be their third full length effort and is in response to 2006’s Dying To Say This To You, which landed itself at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Heatseeker chart and #6 on Sweden’s Top 60.

In support of the release, the band will essentially spend the entire summer on the road, kicking off in late April with a short headlining tour before the band joins up with No Doubt in mid-May. What follows is three-months of non-stop touring, consisting of both opening stints for No Doubt, and with a few headlining appearance.

Since the band’s inception in 1999, The Sounds have released nine singles in Sweden, five of which managed to chart and five here in the U.S. that didn’t manage to make the charts. However, based on the aforementioned plans, let’s just say, don’t be surprised band’s latest cut, “No One Sleeps When I’m Awake”, can be heard on a radio station near you very soon.
