M83, aka electro darling and ‘08 hype man -it’s about time after five albums- Anthony Gonzalez, has announced a winner for his “We Own The Sky” video contest. The the Los Angeles design collective Young Replicant, which consists of director Alex Takacs, director/producer Joe Nankin, camera operator Adam Kauper, and special effects technician Jackson Siedenberg, took home the honors.

“We Own The Sky” made its cinematic debut as the soundtrack of professional snowboarders flying through treetops in the snowboarding documentary, That’s It, That’s All. For their submission, Takacs and Nankin set out to capture another, less literal side of the tune. Using visuals of young love, a prevalent theme in Saturdays=Youth. Young Replicant depicted the emotional essence inherent in the song.

So, why’s this matter to you and me? Well, because the the group pieced together one hell of a music video, one which we can now all watch below.
