French pop rockers Phoenix seem to be about everywhere right now. They completed a nice showing at NBC’s Saturday Night Live a couple weeks ago, announced U.S. tour dates just yesterday, and have an upcoming LP set to arrive on May 26th. And now, their first single, titled “Lizstomania”, has a video release which sheds light on the title of the track to those of whom weren’t subjected to playing piano at an early age.
The video takes place in Bayreuth, Germany at the Franz Lizst museum. Phoenix totes around a large inflatable bomb-like balloon with the words of the band’s upcoming album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, plastered on it. All and all, the video is quite relaxed for a band with such strong pop hooks. Then again, it does seems suitable for a band that has only become more laid back as their popularity has waxed.
