Watch: Phoenix takes “Lisztomania” to SNL

Continuing its trend of tapping musical guests that no one outside of the musical blogosphere has heard of, Saturday Night Live brought Phoenix stateside last night to introduce the America to the splendidly catchy “Lisztomania”, the first single off the French outfit’s forthcoming studio album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.

There isn’t much to say about the performance of hand other than it smashed TV on the Radio out of the water, but then again, that wasn’t really hard. Plus, factor in this with a pretty stellar job by last night’s host Seth Rogen and it’s safe to say last night’s SNL might have been the best episode of the year.

Check it out below. Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, Saturday Night Live will continue the music awesomeness when they bring Karen O. and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to late night television.
