As if there weren’t already enough reasons to attend attend George Wein’s Folk Festival this summer – in case you missed our first post on the topic George Wein’s Folk Festival is the new name for the legendary Newport Folk Festival, Mr. Wein and company have added a few more additions to its 50th anniversary lineup…
…and much like the initial announcement, today’s round of additions is mind-blowingly solid. Billy Bragg, Mavis Staple, Tom Morello, as The Nightwatchman, Ramblin Jack Elliott, Brett Dennen, Deer Tick, David Rawlings Machine, and Guy Clark are now set to join the previously announced likes of Pete Seeger, Fleet Foxes, Ben Kweller, and The Decemberists at Newport, Rhode Island’s Fort Adams State Park from July 31-August 2.
As of now, the lineup for George Wein’s Folk Festival currently looks like this:
