During South by Southwest earlier this year, the Black Lips and GZA got together for an onstage collaboration of Wu-Tang and ODB favorites. While the result didn’t impress our Drew Litowitz all too much, the two acts seemed to think it went well, as evident by a recently released EP featuring some more collaboration. Available now via iTunes for a whopping $1.99, The Drop I Hold EP consist of four tracks, including a previously unreleased version of 200 Million Thousand psychedelic that features a verse from GZA.
As of now, the collaboration does end there, but you will be able to see the Lips play the original version of “The Drop I Hold” at any of their upcoming dates, which just like everyone else these days, includes quite a few festival appearances.
