In case you haven’t heard, Blur is reuniting this summer. But unless you have a boat load of cash to fly overseas and hit up one of the band’s upcoming gigs or festival appearances, the prospects of us Americans getting in on the fun doesn’t appear to be all that great, right?
Wrong, at least according to Live Nation Vice President of Music Steve Homer in an interview with Billboard.biz:
“They have been rehearsing for some time now, for several months,” he tells Billboard.biz. “There are no plans beyond T in the Park [July 12] and Oxegen [July 10]. They are talking about some American shows still in the same time frame. There are possibilities of some European ones as well.”
Of course, if this were all to be true, and Blur really was planning to hit the U.S. in July, the English rockers better get a hurry on it. I mean, July is in oh, a month away?, and it’s not the greatest of economic times. Then again, maybe all this has something to do with a few certain festivals that takes place in the said time frame that are a.) rumored to be looking for another headliner, or b.) have yet to announce a lineup. We shall see.
As always, we’ll keep you updated.
