On Monday night, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band proved that a good show can actually take place in Washington, D.C. The following evening, Bruce and the band traveled to Pittsburgh for another surprise of sorts, but this time, rather than the result of an entire three-hour evening, this particular moment came during one song, and a famous one at that.
Compliments of the requests portion of the show (e.g., the part where he dedicates 30 minutes challenging the audience to stump the band), Bruce & the E Street Band performed what according to Backstreets was the first-ever performance of the first Bob Dylan song Bruce ever heard. Yes, folks, “Like a Rolling Stone” was covered.
