Clutch is one of those bands that thrives thanks to its super dedicated fanbase. So, unless you’re a member of this super dedicated fanbase, the following news probably won’t interest you all that much.

On July 7th, the Maryland based quartet will release its ninth full-length effort and first on personal imprint Weathermaker Music, Strange Cousins From the West. Produced by Clutch and J. Robbins at Magpie Cage Studios in Baltimore, the 11-track followup to 2007’s From Beale Street to Oblivion will include single #1, 50,000 Unstoppable Watts”, along with a couple of surprises, such as a cover of Poppo’s Blues Band’s “Algo Ha Cambiado”.

In support of the release, Clutch will do more of what Clutch does best: a summer of touring. Both the U.S. and Europe will get love of the next two months, with more dates sure to come. After all, they have to hit their yearly average of 100 shows, right?
