Randolph Chalbot, the one man maestro behind Deastro, is on the move through the U.S. to build more steam for the June 23rd release of Moondagger from label, Ghostly International. The press is onto this 22-year-old wunderkind from Detroit, lauding his synth-pop, indie flavor. Word about Chalbots new album is cutting through bloggers lists of anticipated albums, and deservedly so. Randolph Chalbot has been crafting orchestrations from his laptop since he was 12, releasing his previous album, Keepers on Emusic.
So what does someone do at this stage? Tour, tour, tour.
Although this continental sojourn is not fully extensive, Deastro will make some crucial stops at venues such as Studio B in Brooklyn, Mercury Lounge in New York, and Los Angeles Spaceland. Ahead of the album and tour, two singles, Vermillion Plaza and Parallelogram, have already been released from Moondagger and have received the requisite approbation from many barometers of indie music. If you need any indication on why what you just read is important, check them out for yourself below.
