Never a group to do things straightforwardly (see: their numerous lineup changes, plentiful side projects and pair of rock operas), the Disco Biscuits recently bulked up their summer 2009 tour with a number of East Coast shows, festival appearances and crowd-favorite supporting acts — all of it culminating in the eighth annual Camp Bisco in upstate New York.
The Road to Camp Bisco Tour kicks off with back-to-back nights of “Bisco Inferno” at two different Colorado venues. Tickets to the first show, at Denver’s Ogden Theatre, are only available as part of a two-day pass that includes the next day’s performance at Red Rocks, or you can buy a single ticket to the Red Rocks show. The band then heads east for the majority of its show dates. Highlights include a free, outdoor show in Buffalo and a number of guest appearances by Lotus, Future Rock, 2020Soundsystem and String Cheese Incident offshoot EOTO.
So far, the lineup for Camp Bisco includes Nas and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, STS9, Dr. Dog and Pat Mahoney of LCD Soundsystem.
Then, after an autumnal break — and, why not? a stint in Japan — the Disco Biscuits must toil and labor through four nights in Jamaica as part of the Caribbean Holidaze festival.
