Last October, Fucked Up performed a 12-hour marathon show at Rogan NYC. Jason Beck, better known in music circles as Gonzales, laughs at that.

On Saturday, May 16th the Canadian musician will set up on the stage of Paris’ the Cine 13 Theatre at 11:00 p.m. and begin his attempt to break the Guinness World Record for longest concert by an individual: 27 hours. Yes, kids, he’s aiming to pass Prasanna Gudi’s record performance time of 26 hours and 12 minutes.

Of course, being a Guinness World Record attempt, there are rules: The presence of a Guinness adjudicator and of medical professionals is required. Drug testing is mandatory. Rest breaks of 5 minutes each hour may be accumulated.

As for the music, the repertoire will include some, “300-odd recognizable songs from all eras and styles of music, in new and surprising arrangements, including Gonzales’ catalogue.”That doesn’t mean there will be repetition, “I will break the record without sounding like a broken record,” said Gonzales.
