Considering that Mastodon‘s recently released fourth studio album, Crack the Skye, is easily the group’s most story-like work to date, it only makes sense that the Atlanta rockers are now talking film. Drummer and lyricist Brann Dailor tells Billboard.com that the quartet recently sat down with a film director, who “wrote out a screenplay that reads from song to song. We didn’t storyboard it, but we wrote a screenplay.”
Three other directors have also expressed interested in turning the seven-track effort into in a film. Of course, as with everything these days, the ultimate decision comes down to money.
