As if life wasn’t good enough already for Matt Helders – after all, he is the drummer for the Arctic Monkeys, the twenty-three year-old will soon have one more item he can add to his already kick-ass resume. From June 24-27, Helders, along with Reverend and the Makers frontman Jon McClure, will curate a free music festival in Sheffield, England. Entitled the Tramlines Festival, the three-day event will bring music to venues throughout the northern city, with a 4,000-capacity main stage set to be situated on Devonshire Green.
So far, Little Boots, Pixie Lott and The Panics among those scheduled to perform. Due to prior commitments, what with a new album and tour forthcoming, Helders and his fellow Monkeys will not be performing.
