After the death of Darby Crash back in the 1980s it seemed almost necessary for punk rock legends The Germs to throw in the ropes and go their separate ways. Coincidentally however, almost thirty years later, the remaining Germs are still tearing up the streets with the help of Shane West; a man who fits in the shoes of Crash a little too well. And this year theyve scheduled a wicked U.S. summer tour for us to salivate over.
It all started when West starred as Crash in the biographical film What We Do Is Secret, a few years back about the rise of The Germs and the inevitable suicide of frontman Crash. From there, the surviving Germs, captivated by Wests performance, decided to reunite the band and have been kicking ass ever since. And yes, we are talking about the whole she-bang here folks, including the dazzling Pat Smear, sizzling Lorna Doom and wild Don Bolles.
Very little has been seen from any of the remaining Germs since Crashs death, including side-projects and guest performances, which is why a chance to see the remaining members of one of LAs first punk rock acts is such an honor. So, dont be a square this summer and let The Germs fuck you proper.
