Any doubt that Virgin Mobile wouldn’t be returning to Canada this summer for a series of summer music festivals was put to rest today. After drawing over 150,000 attendees with festivals in Toronto and Calgary last year, organizer have announced plans for five, count ’em five, events this summer. In addition to Calgary and Toronto, Virgin will return to British Columbia – last year’s version was scrapped, and debut in both Montreal and Nova Scotia.

The first of these events will be Virgin Festival Montreal, which as we learned today, will offer a lineup featuring the likes of the Black Eyed Peas, New Kids on the Block, Simple Plan, Akon, Hedley, Live, Lights, The New Cities, Eva Aliva, and Divine Brown between June 19th and 20th in Parc Jean-Drapeu. Tickets for the weekend will go on sale beginning Saturday, May 9th via geg.ca.

Announcements relating to the remaining four Canadian Virgin Festivals will be made in the coming weeks. We have always received word that details of Baltimore’s Virgin Mobile Festival will be unveiled soon as well. As always, keep up to date at FestivalOutlook.com.
