Watch: Pet Shop Boys – “Did You See Me Coming?”

You don’t have to be in Who’s Who to know what’s what – the Pet Shop Boys are enjoying the success of Yes, the Boys’ tenth full-length album. Released in March, Yes reached #4 on the UK album charts. One month later, the BRIT Awards followed the album on February 18, 2009, where the Boys received the Outstanding Contribution to Music award. To help the Boys celebrate that evening, Lady GaGa and Brandon Flowers accompanied the pair on stage for a performance.

Fast-forward to May, and the Pet Shop Boys are still celebrating the release. Now available for pre-order via iTunes is Yes‘ latest single, “Did You See Me Coming?”, which will be released in three digital EPs, each with a different track listing. More importantly, is the single’s music video – “Did You See Me Coming?” is a fusion of old and new, with Neil Tennant donning an outfit reminiscent of the one worn in “West End Girls”, while Chris Lowe wears shades and lurks in the background. Although said background consists of modern shapes in a minimalist black and white scheme, the background or Lowe’s updated ensemble fools no one. The Boys’ ’80s past remains memorable. Sorry, but the synthesizer gives it away … it hasn’t out sold a guitar since 1983.
