Blitzen Trapper continues recording and touring

After taming the beast that was Sasquatch! – the music festival, the gentlemen of Blitzen Trapper are ready to move on to equally challenging tasks.

The Portland rockers recently began work on the followup to last year’s critically lauded Furr. The band revealed to Live Daily that the new album will feature a little bit of everything. “There’s country. There’s hard-rock stuff. There’s some piano ballads with strings,” frontman Eric Earley said in the recent sitdown. “It’s hard for me to [compare it to the rest of the catalog] because I have a lot of different things going on. There’s rock and folk music, so the new record will be like that. We’ll see.” The yet-to-be-titled effort is said to be half done, though there is currently no timetable for release.

Then, there’s a little activity called touring. In between studio sessions, Blitzen Trapper will head west where the band will spend most of July hitting California and other western states. A few festival appearances are on the itinerary as well, including this year’s Austin City Limits.
