Back in April, when asked by Pitchfork whether the Pixies would be doing any other dates in addition to the band’s scheduled one-off festival appearances, bassist Kim Deal said the following: “Not that I know of, no. We have somebody overseas who books us. If the booking agent gets enough offers, he goes to the band and says, ‘Guys, I can get you guys a few gigs if you’re into it.’ So that’s what’s happened.”
Well, it looks like the booking agent convinced them not only more dates, but a full-fledged European tour is in order. In support of the 20th anniversary of their iconic album Doolittle, the Pixies have announced plans for a 11-date Euro tour for the month of October. Included on the itinerary, which will reportedly see Frank Black and Co. performing Doolittle in its entirety along withi ts related b-sides, will be stops in London, Dublin, Glasgow, Amsterdam and Paris.
Of course, as previously reported, all this will follow a string of Frank Black solo shows, both as Black Francis and with wife wife Violet Clark as part of Grand Duchy.
