Iceland’s chaotic princess, Björk, has been repeatedly praised for her outrageous costumes, thrilling live performances and mind-boggling theatrics, which is why we’re so excited about Voltaic finally hitting the shelves. But just when we thought our day couldn’t get any better, Björk revealed a couple of exclusive videos from Voltaic: The Volta Tour, including “Declare Independence” and “Sonnets/Unrealities XI”.
The slow and enchanting “Sonnets/Unrealities XI”, taken during her performance in Reykjavik, features Björk in a glittering gown, as she’s backed by a choir. Then, “Declare Independence” comes along and riles up the moment with its loud, intoxicating rhythm as her audience has a wailing good time with all of the mindless electronic noise, confetti, lasers, bare feet and shouting going on up stage. Honestly, it’s hard to choose a favorite between the two, so we’ll leave you to be the judge of that one.
