Here’s something that’s probably true: One of the most talked about releases of 2009 came in the form of Green Day‘s latest foray into concept albums, 21st Century Breakdown. Here’s something else that’s probably true: The pop-punk masters have no bigger following than that of the MySpace community.

So perhaps it should come as little of a surprise to hear that Green Day took time out of its busy schedule assisting with the American Idiot musical to perform some songs off 21st Century Breakdown as part of the latest edition of MySpace’s concert series, The List. The whole thing went down last month at New York’s Webster Hall, but only now is the rest of world able to take in the scence that was.

Hearkening back to Unplugged, only plugged in, the setting proves to be a great display of how honestly Armstrong and company wish 21st Century Breakdown to be taken (at least in terms of retrospection). But don’t take our word for it, check out a couple clips below, or the whole thing at The List.

In related news, during a recent interview with the band by Kevin and Bean Breakfast Q&A, Tre Cool stated that a Rock Band: Green Day is in the works. So, get excited. That is if the answer ain’t just a bit of sarcasm.
