Slug (MC Sean Daley) and Ant (DJ/Producer Anthony Davis) of Minneapolis hip-hop outfit Atmosphere are veterans at the whole “music for free” game. Back in December 2007 the duo released Strictly Leakage on their Rhymesayers imprint. They opted to give the album to the fans with no strings attached, no registration, and no hurdles. All you had to do was a simple right-click save-as and the album was resting DRM free on your hard drive.

This time around, Slug has a message for you: “As we approach the launch of our new digital online store Anthony and myself have put together another project we are giving away for free to any of you who sign up for a user account on our online store…Consider it another “thank you” for all of the support you have offered us over the years”. Even though you have to jump through a couple of extra hoops and submit your personal information, you need to keep in the back of your mind that it’s FREE. See below for the steps required:

    1. Go to www.fifthelementonline.com
    2. Add “LEAK AT WILL” to your cart (added at $0.00) and then Checkout
    3. Register for your online account (no payment info required)
    4. Download

If you like what you hear, you can do your part and catch them during their upcoming US tour. Atmosphere will be stopping at NY’s Webster Hall, Austin’s famed Stubbs BBQ, Lollapalooza for a mid day appearance on the South stage, and will conclude by performing in San Francisco at the Outside Lands Festival. Fellow label mates Eydea & Abilities will be joining them for a majority of the shows.
