Here’s a shock: Another member from a high-profile indie band is releasing a solo album! Following in the footsteps of Jim James, Kyp Malone, Paul Banks, Lou Barlow and Julian Casablancas will be none other than Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s Alec Ounsworth. On October 20th, the frontman will release his solo debut with a 10-track effort entitled Mo Beauty. Recorded in New York and New Orleans, the album looks to be bother a personal and guest-heavy affair, the latter of which is result of appearances from George Porter, Jr. of the Meters, Stanton Moore of Galactic, Robert Walter of Greyboy Allstars, and Al “Carnival Time” Johnson.
If you’re a viewer of late night television, you’d also probably know that Ounsworth is possibly recording a new album with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.
Oh, the things you must do to earn a spot in the indie coloring book…
