Ladies and gentlemen, lovers and lonely nobodies alike, business time is almost upon us as formerly New Zealand’s fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo the Flight of the Conchords will soar back into record stores across the globe and lay their newest album.
To be released October 20th via Sub Pop, I Told You I Was Freaky is the band’s second studio album. Produced by Mickey Petralia, the man behind completely incompatible acts Linkin Park and Butthole Surfers, the album will be compromised mostly of songs from the band’s second season on HBO. You know, the one that earned the boys six Emmy Award nominations…
As a result, it’ll probably be funny and familiar, what with 10 of the album’s 13 tracks having previously been released on iTunes. That said, there will be some uniqueness, as the duo did write a track entitled “Rambling Through The Avenues Of Time” specifically for the album.
As for the show’s future, despite claims back in September 2008 of the series ending, rumors are swirling that New Zealand’s finest may be ready to take flight once again. So, as they say in television, stay tuned…
