Japandroids prove health is no issue, extend Post-Nothing tour

Three short months ago, the Japandroids were ready to embark on their first major US tour. The venues were locked (including a performance at Sasquatch! Music Festival), and tour bus was packed and ready to go. Then singer/guitarist Brian King literally went and broke his leg. There was a caveat; the broken leg wasn’t the main issue. It was also discovered that he had a potentially life threatening perforated ulcer. Just like that, the tour was canceled.

As King went down with a bum leg, their album Post-Nothing was prepping for a digital/vinyl release on Unfamiliar. Having already self released EP’s All Lies and Lullaby Death Jams, this was their first release of material on any label. Once the album dropped at the end of April, all drummer David Prowse could do was wait until King got the Dr’s bill of good health.

Bill in hand, the noise mongering duo rescheduled their canceled dates with a June 30th kickoff in Omaha, NE of all places. Here we are now a full two weeks later and the band is setting out to make up for lost ground by adding an additional 30 shows. Along the way they’ll be picking up the Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band and The Coathangers before concluding with a performance in London England in late October.
