Looking to turn the page on her recent troubles, Madonna has announced plans for a Celebration of musical proportions… and it’s all on one disc, or two (depending on your preference).
On September 29th, the Material Girl will unleash a brand new greatest hits compilation, featuring both old and new.
Old as in hits, remastered and chosen by fans. According to the issued press release, “Everybody”, “Express Yourself”, “Vogue” and “4 Minutes” are among the tracks expected to be included.
New as in new material, two songs to be exact. One, the title track, was produced by acclaimed DJ Paul Oakenfold in New York City and will serve as the compilation’s first single — It is scheduled to hit radio airwaves on August 3rd. The other, according to Billboard, is rumored to be a song entitled “Revolver” and is a collaboration with Lil Wayne.
As alluded to, Celebration will be available in both single-disc and double-disc formats. A companion DVD, featuring music videos, clips and never before seen footage, is also scheduled for release on the September 29th as well. Exact specifics, including a final tracklist and packing information have yet to be released.
That said, once released, Celebration will serve Madonna’s third greatest hits compilation and last album as an artist of Warner Bros. Records. If you remember, in 2007, she signed a long-term deal with Live Nation, which currently has exclusive rights to all future music.
