It’s about time!
British alternative rockers Manic Street Preachers are finally ready to share their ninth studio album, Journal for Plague Lovers, with North America. If you remember, the 13-track, Steve Albini-produced effort was first released back in the U.K. last May and has since had its cover censored and been remixed by the likes of British Sea Power, Patrick Wolf, Underworld, and others. Come September 15th, we’ll finally get to hear what all the fuss is about (Let’s just pretend we all abide by the laws) when the Preachers unveil Journal via Columbia Records.
But that’s not the only all… in support of the release, the trio of James Dean Bradfield, Nicky Wire, and Sean Moore will be making a rare appearance in the states. On September 21st, the band will embark on its first North American tour in nearly 10 years with a 12-date, two week endeavor. And what makes this even cooler is you won’t have to see them in a 100,000 person stadium — The Preachers relatively modest popularity in North America means smaller, more intimate venues than what our friends across the Atlantic often get it. So, take it in… while you can.
Tickets for the newly announced dates will go on sale beginning Friday, July 31st via Ticketmaster.com.
