With the increasing demand for YouTube fame, it’s no surprise that almost every fan boy/girl thinks they can be the next big thing. Sadly, most of these kids just end up making a fool of themselves, only to become YouTube’s next biggest idiot. Which is why when a fan video actually receives credit for being a quality piece of film, it’s a huge deal. And that’s exactly what happened to Ross Ching when he made a video for his longtime favorite band, Death Cab for Cutie.

Shortly after Ching uploaded his video for the song “Little Bribes” off of Death Cab for Cutie’s recent Open Door EP, the unthinkable happened; the band declared his video official and a press release was announced thereafter. Score for the underdog!

“Little Bribes” is a fast-paced, choppy sing-a-long video, which showcases each individual lyric cascading forward, upward, downward, sideways, and underneath the screen. Ching relies heavily on frequently used filming techniques such as stop-motion technology, live action and time-lapse for the video, but still manages to use them in an inventive and unique way. “Little Bribes” is a cute tribute to the catchy, heart-wrenching tune that’s a must see! So, keep scrolling down and you’ll see just exactly what we mean.
